-The name of the artist
-Title of the work
-Retail price
-Media
Please do not affix stickers on your work, such as generic colored stickers of any kind. A professional-looking peel and stick label on the back of your work with your information is acceptable.
Two-Dimensional Work:
Proper materials must be employed. Some examples of unacceptable work are: frames with corners that do not meet, improperly attached wires, dirty or smudged mats, works that have fallen from their mat, and debris between the glazing material and art.
Frames must be of quality equivalent to the price charged. Frames should complement each other for grouping of your work. How your work is framed plays a large part in the presentation.
Put the name of the piece, price and medium on the back of all work.
Craft:
All work must be in excellent condition. Some examples of unacceptable fine craft are: fiber work that is stained or dirty, and pottery that is chipped or does not sit flat.
Proper displays must accompany some work such as hats, jewelry or any work that does not stand alone. For example, a hat artist must deliver hat stands for display until the gallery can provide them.
Put the name of the piece, price and medium on all work.
Exhibits:
As with any exhibit, work must adhere to the theme of an exhibit as well as the quality of presentation. Work that does not fit the theme can not be exhibited. Please keep in mind that these guidelines are for the purpose of raising the level of our exhibit presentations. This not only promotes a more positive image for Beckley Art Group and for the gallery but also accentuates the quality of the artist’s work to the viewer making you, the artist, and the gallery a success.
